Draper Girls Country Farm is a working farm. We encourage you to experience a real farm by harvesting the fruits and vegetables from our fields and orchards for your own use. We ask that you and your family respect this privilege and that you respect our property, our employees and the rules. Please treat the farm as if it were your own. Everything below has been put into place to protect and ensure the safety of our visitors.
Each year's unique weather and growing season make it impossible to set specific harvest dates for specific varieties in advance. All dates are approximate. To get specific details on which varieties are being picked on a specific date, check our homepage, like us on Facebook or call us. Because our orchard has over 35 different varieties of apples, you will find more than one apple variety in a section. That makes it very important to pick only in the designated rows. The trees on your right or left may not be the same variety and may not be ready to be picked, even if the apples are red and look like they are ripe. We will give you specific guidelines on where to pick.

- We reserve the right to close the fields at any time.
- We reserve the right to refuse access to anyone at any time.
- Pick only in designated areas. Each day we check the fruits for ripeness and suitability for picking, picking in un-designated areas will affect the quality and shelf life of your fruit.
- Payment options: Visa, Debit, MasterCard, and Cash.
- You MUST pay for what you pick (we will not buy your extra fruit nor will we sell it for you).
- You Pick fields close promptly at time specified.
- Adult supervised children who are well behaved are welcome.
- You are responsible for your actions and the actions of those with you.
- Plan appropriately for what you intend to pick and the closing time.
- We do not sell the bushes or trees.
- Use the bathrooms and hand washing facilities provided, not the fields or orchards.
- If you have allergies be sure to bring appropriate medicines (epi pen, antihistamine).
- Dress appropriately for the weather, bring sun screen, hats, rain gear, boots, close toed shoes.
- Do not litter or leave trash in fields.
- We are dog lovers, but due to the number of visitors we ask that you please leave your dogs at home (except for service animals).
- Watch for honeybees and bumblebees they are needed for pollination and will be in the fields.
- We supply the picking containers.
- Please drive slowly and with care. There are many children.
- No climbing trees, standing on wagons or tables.
- No breaking branches.
- No throwing fruit, sticks or stones.
- Removal of branches or stems or bushes is prohibited.
- No knives or cutting tools are allowed in the fields or orchards.
- Do not eat picked fruit until you have paid for it.
- No smoking or consuming alcohol.
- Do not drink irrigation water.
- Do not touch or disturb bird, bumblebee or honeybee boxes.
- Do not go near or touch bird scare machinery or farm machinery that may be in the fields or orchards.
- Do not stand on or drive over irrigation pipe.
- Do not cross under the ropes. They are up for your benefit and safety.
Etiquette
Please -
- Be respectful of closing time.
- Be courteous to those picking around you.
- Treat plants and trees with care.
- Report any problems immediately to a Draper Girls’ employee.
- Fruit is fragile and should be placed in the containers. Never drop or toss, it will bruise.
- Do not pick under ripe fruit. It will not get ripe or sweet once picked.
- Raspberries - do not pick with the stems on... the fruit will easily release from the cap when ripe.
- Strawberries - do not pull on the berry use the stem and cap to protect the fruit when picking.
- Cherries and Strawberries, will keep longer if picked with the stems.
- Refrigerate your fruit and vegetables as soon as possible.
- Always wash your fruit and vegetables before eating.
Example of a "Level Filled" bucket approximately 20 pounds.When you arrive at the farm you will proceed to the designated check in area. You will be asked to write down your name, phone number and bucket number. The general information, etiquette, rules, and tips will be explained and you will be guided to the designated area open for picking.
Below you will see examples of the minimum bucket level for picking. We do not allow you to pick fewer then a level filled bucket. Not sure what to do with 20lbs? Since you are picking fresh apples from the tree, you can store these in your refrigerator up to two months and they will stay fresh, not like the ones you get in the store. You can eat for snacks, send in the kids lunches or my favorite, make apple sauce or pies, yummy.
